Pitâw Mīno Muskîkî, Founded By Anishinaabe Girl, Blackwolf Dog, Mashkiki Garden Creations
Pitaw Mino Muskiki (which translates to Brings Good Medicine) Indigenous Handmade Markets is a vibrant collective of Indigenous women artists, makers, and community advocates dedicated to hosting seasonal markets in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Treaty 1 Territory.
Our markets are dedicated to honouring the artistry and craftsmanship of local Manitoba Indigenous peoples. We showcase 100% handmade products, emphasizing the profound spirit of making and creating.
Co-founded in 2022 by Shauna Fontaine (Anishinaabe Girl Designs), Brittany Grisdale (Black Wolf Dog), and Dana Connolly (Medicine Garden Society), our mission is to bring gifts of medicine together. We create a dynamic platform that celebrates multi-faceted Indigenous art forms, including textiles, literature, food, music, accessories, and creations of all kinds.
Pitaw Mino Muskiki is committed to creating barrier-free platforms that honour and celebrate the diversity and unique talents of Indigenous peoples in the arts. More than just promoting the arts, our market supports:
* Economic Reconciliation
* Healing and Belonging
* Education and Indigenous Identity
As an Indigenous-led initiative, we prioritize reciprocity, equity, and sustainability in all our efforts, ensuring a welcoming and empowering experience for everyone.
