Métis Sash Beaded Fringe Earrings by La Vaalii Rivyeer Roozh

These beaded fringe earrings evoke the long history of the Métis sash with a muted colour palette using small, Matte Miyuki delica seed beads that have been expertly woven together by Brooke Buchan, the maker behind La Vaalii Rivyeer Roozh. These earrings measure 1.5 inches (3.81 cm) in length, and 0.7 inches (1.78 cm) wide, with gold plated earring hooks.

Brooke Buchan is a Metis/Michif artisan with ancestral ties to Red River, Pembina, and Lake Manitoba. They are descended from the Lagimodière, Mallet, Chartrand and Sanderson families. Buchan began beading in 2022 to deepen their connection to Metis culture and identity. They are inspired by ancestral grandmother pieces.
