Artist Bio

Chelsey Finney is an Ojibwe (Status) artist from Lac Seul First Nation who lives and creates on Treaty 1 Territory in Winnipeg. She founded Chel & Bead Creations in 2023 as a way to reconnect with her cultural roots through beadwork.

Inspired by nature, Chelsey creates beaded earrings, hair clips, bag charms, bolo ties, belt bags, and jewelry boxes. She continues to explore new techniques and forms of making.

For Chelsey, beadwork is more than a craft—it is medicine, offering connection, healing, creativity, and community.
